چکیده
The benefits humans utilise from the ecological interactions of Brown Long-eared bat (Plecotus auritus) have gone relatively unnoticed in UK. This study aimed to expose one such interaction through a pluralistic valuation Codling moth (Cydia pomonella) regulation by P. auritus context English apple orchards. A stage-structured model linking C. pomonella population dynamics consumption was created understand crop loss reduction estimates due this predation. found that presence single individual resulted significant 81.06–83.68% lost per hectare. results avoided costs methods yielded range economic with between GBP 307.59 and 604.95/ha private, social being avoided. Traditional biodiverse orchards support habitats are at risk land development agricultural intensification which would serious consequences on biodiversity. findings could form basis further research informs orchard managers, local communities dependent production policymakers importance ecosystem services sustainable agriculture.

Adjusting the phenology model of codling moth (lepidoptera: tortricidae) in Washington State apple orchards.
Studies were conducted with codling moth, Cydia pomonella L., to fit cumulative curves for the occurrence of injured fruits and male moth catches in sex pheromone-baited traps as a function of accumulated degree-days after the start of moth flight. Twelve data sets were collected from seven apple, Malus domestica Bordhausen, orchards in Washington State from 2003 to 2006. Cumulative data were g...

Studies were conducted in 1997 and 1998 to evaluate the effects of three particle film formulations consisting of kaolin and adjuvants on neonate larvae, ovipositing adult females, and eggs of the codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.). Neonate larval walking speed, fruit discovery rate, and fruit penetration rate on apple host plants coated with particle films were significantly lower than on host...
متن کاملIs biofix necessary for predicting codling moth (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) emergence in Washington State apple orchards?
The heat-driven phenology model used for initiating codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), management in Washington state was examined to determine the need for using the capture of the first moth as a method of synchronizing the model and phenology of field populations (= biofix). We examined trap catch data taken at 1-2-d intervals from two research orchards; one data ...

New formulations of the codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.), granulovirus (CpGV) [family Baculoviridae, genus Granulovirus] are commercially available in North America. In field tests on apple (Malus sp. 'Delicious'), we compared different application strategies for CpGV (Cyd-X, Certis USA, Clovis, CA) used in full-season programs against high pest populations. In replicated single tree plots, t...

Studies were conducted in the Maule Region to characterize the phenology of the codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.)
